A Great Journey Where Time, Space and Music Meet
“Four Seasons in Istanbul” invites the listener not merely to a concert experience, but to a multilayered journey stretching from nature to the city, from the past to the present.
This special project brings together a broad repertoire ranging from the Baroque period to the present day, presented through a dramatic stage flow constructed around the theme of the seasons.
In the first part of the concert, Antonio Vivaldi’s immortal work “The Four Seasons” brings the cycle of nature to the stage in the language of music; while in the second act, Debussy, Chaminade, Morricone and Piazzolla bring the colors and rhythms of different geographies together with the multicultural spirit of Istanbul.
In the second concert, Schubert’s “Trout Quintet,” one of the masterpieces of chamber music, stands out with its elegance and mastery; and in the finale that follows, violinist Cihat Askin’s composition “Four Seasons in Istanbul” reinterprets the soul of the city through four distinct seasons.
This musical narrative, stretching from the first light of morning into the night;
paints the streets, the sea, the memory and the emotions of Istanbul with sound.
