Gökhan Şahin Alpay
Violin

Born in Bursa in 2000, Gökhan Şahin Alpay began music at the age of 9 by playing the baglama. In 2011 he passed the aptitude exam of the Uludag University State Conservatory and began his violin education with Şeniz Serter, then continued with Ozan Sari.

Within the scope of the education and master classes held with Cihat Aşkın and His Little Friends (CAKA) under the Ayvalik International Music Academy (AIMA), he had the opportunity to work with important artists such as Sergey Kravchenko, Cihat Aşkın, Itzhak Rashkovsky, Ani Schnarch, Marc Danel, Hagai Shaham, Pelin Halkacı Akın and Dylan Blackmore.

He took part in the violin and chamber music master classes organized by the Karsiyaka Municipality and took part in concerts with members of the Karsiyaka Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Rengim Gökmen. He took part in concerts within the Turkiye National Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (TUGFO) under the direction of Cem Mansur. He also takes part in various projects with many orchestras such as the Aromsa Chamber Orchestra, the CRR Symphony Orchestra, the Gedik Philharmonic Orchestra and the Milli Reasurans Chamber Orchestra.

In the field of chamber music he gives concerts with Quartet 34 and continues his work on repertoire from different periods and styles.

Graduating from the Istanbul University State Conservatory in 2023, Gökhan Şahin Alpay works as an additional paid lecturer at the same institution. He continues his work in the fields of solo, chamber music and orchestra, and continues his master’s studies with Prof. Sevil Ulucan Weinstein at the Istanbul University State Conservatory.
