Percussionist Burhan Ocal was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by WOMEX (World Music Expo). Ocal is known for his contributions to the development of world music over a career spanning more than 40 years.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Ocal said, “Music transcends borders. I have simply been a bridge that helps cross those borders.”
